I know.. it’s summer in Italy right now! But I’m excited to be heading back for a holiday in August, and so I thought I would share some more photos from my last trip in anticipation!

During my visit to the Colosseum I kept having to slow myself down and really try to imagine what it would have been like in ancient Rome, counting the centuries backwards in my head while trying to visualise the Romans roaring at the entertainment from where I stood.

Even more history awaited next door at The Forum, where the earliest structures were built in the 7th and 8th century BC. It looks like it was a beautiful winter day, but a bone-chilling wind was whipping around the ancient architecture during my visit.
